Monitor resolution issue with Adobe CS3 on iMac G5
by Aaron Faulkner on May 29, 2008 at 8:07:54 pm

I just purchased Adobe CS3 Production Premium on Mac. I have an Imac G5 20 inch (no isight). 2Ghz 2GB Ram I have FCP Studio 2 that runs fine but apparently, I cannot install my CS3 package. This Imac does not have the 1280x1024 monitor resolution needed to install, is there a way around this that somebody knows of. HELP PLEASE!!! Thanks

I installed it on a G4 Powerbook with a max resolution of 1280x854. I don't see how your iMac would be less capable than this machine.

What is your highest resolution setting?

Its 1440 x 900 but the system requirements for CS3 Production Premium is 1280 x 1024. Where you able to put CS3 Production Premium on there? It's so weird because the Imac seems to every setting but this one. There has to be way to bypass this system check.

Yeah, I have CS3 Master Collection, which is everything from production premium plus Indesign and a couple other things that I opted out of installing.

This machine can't run Premier Pro and one or two other apps (I think the sound apps) because of lacking hardware, but After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Dreamweaver, Flash, Bridge, Acrobat and whatever else (I think that's it...) are all installed and working fine, if a bit slower than I'd really like them to be, but it's a G4 Powerbook so I'm not expecting it to be blazing fast.

I think you need to contact Adobe. Something is way wrong if you can't install it on that machine.
