Jagged Text and Logo after compressing a movie...
by Adam Lewen on May 25, 2008 at 10:39:43 am

Hello there.
I have been reading some posts about my, and similar problems, but could not find a solution;

My problem is:
I am making a short clip with some hi-rez footage and some titles (text layer in After Effects).

When rendering to the best settings everything is ok.
But when compressing the large file a bit, whether in After Effects, a third party compressor, or even just making a DVD from the good-looking-large file; all the text is showing with jagged edges... which is a real downer :-(

Anyone familiar with this issue??
Thanks in advanced!

Just render with the Animation codec at highest quality. Then use a Best Quality preset in DVD Studio Pro to compress to MPEG.
I don't use Encore but I'm sure it has an equivalent preset

Thanks for replying.

I tried a couple of different methods when burning to DVD. With no real luck. I also need the files a bit compressed, without burning them to DVD (the situation now is 1GB for 42 sec...) an whenever i compress it a bit a lot of info is being jagged...
I think i am doing something wrong while rendering, but I am not sure.
