My color picker is occasionally crashing AE when I click on it. Is there any way to re-load just that portion of the software? I have a hunch it's a Mac thing, not an AE thing (It's happening in Flash and Cinema4D as well), but it's most critical in AE.
...also, and possibly related, I used to have some great color picker tools, but now I only have pickers that are visual based, with no numeric values, or that handy swatch pull-out for saving colors. And how did I get a ridiculous box of crayons as a color pallet?! What's going on here!?

I don't know about the crashing, but I know that you have to tell AE to use the System Color picker if you want that nice color-wheel color selector. You do it in Preferences.
