an iMac multiprocessing question
by Will Del Mar (willdelmar) on May 9, 2008 at 9:55:28 am

Hi all,

I have a Core 2 Duo iMac (2.4GHz) running with only 2Gb RAM running OSX.4.11

Should I set up my machine for the following:
50% (1Gb) Max Memory Usage
40% (819Mb) Max RAM Cache Size (or image cache)
Multiprocessing ON

I was wondering: how much memory should I leave in the Max Memory usage? If I take this lower than 1Gb, will it affect general performance of AE? would performance would be better across the board if I had more RAM?

Cheers!

[Will Del Mar] "would performance would be better across the board if I had more RAM?"

Adding RAM is the best single thing you can do to improve AE performance. It solves a LOT of problems.
