Any way whatsoever to export a CS3 project to AE 7? Yeah, I didn't think so, but I have some plug-ins that don't work on CS3 and don't want to rebuild the project.

There's a way around, if you are especially masochistic. I'm not sure on the specifics as I've never attempted it, but I have heard of it.
It involves copying the keyframe data into text-edit and then somehow pasting it into ae7. Again, I can't say if this works - but it is an interesting theory.
But then again, it's probably not worth the hassle.

actually, you may be able to copy and paste key framed data from one versionto anotherby just having them both open, then doing a copy and paste... no text file.
i haven't tried it, but it seems like it may work.
as far as getting the effects that don't work in cs3, if the effects are broken due to the whole universal binary/intel mac thing, you can usually get access to old non-universal effects in cs3 by running ae under rosettta powerpc emulation. to set that up, select the ae cs3 application, then choose file>get info, there is a check box to tell ae to run under rosetta. this will give you access to old third-party non-unversal binary effects and codecs installed in ae.
note that you may encounter some draw backs to running the powerpc version of ae, similiar to those taht were experienced by running ae7 on an intel mac under rosetta. but it can helpfull when you need that one old effect...
