Border-edging a mask

Border-edging a mask

Hello all.

I have a layer which has a mask. What I'm trying to accomplish is placing a colored border around the masked edge. I've tried creating a new solid, and copying the already complicated mask to the solid, but not getting the desired result.

Any help?

Effect > Render > Stroke.
