For a project I am working on ... a client wants some animation here and there incorporated ... but, since I am not a 3D animation guy, I wanted to know what I can do with Animation Models ...
Also, what software format will After Effects Read? I want to move some of the animation on 3D Axis's in AE ...
Most importantly, can I move a model from a 3D program? Or would the 3D program have to move the object in there and only be composited as a clip in After Effects?
Thanks for any comments.

I don't have to work with 3D applications, but just for the heck of it, I did a search in AE Help using the search term, "Maya". I discovered a wealth of information on how AE works with 3D applications.

Sure, if you already work in 3d and do multipass rendering, and know how to extract d.o.f. and surface normal data, then AE works great with that stuff in creating your final composites.
But you can't import import 3d models into AE.
