Workflow AE Project to Television
by Derya Oeztuerk on Apr 28, 2008 at 12:51:08 pm

Hi there,

is there a tutorial on the standard workflow from a AE project to TV, on topics like render settings for PAL and NTSC Televisions? Also on topics like pixel ratio, file formats, codecs
which to use for projects which are intended to broadcasted on TV.

I am asking this, because every TV Channel seems to have it's own settings for the movies they use to bring it on air. It would be great if there is a pro out there which can describe how he/she is preparing files/movies in order to send them to TV-Channels.

There are many informations on the net and here at creativecow which describe only partial aspects of this. A walktrough of the workflow with the most important aspects would be great!

Hope the question is clear enough :-)

Thanks in advance

Sadly, there is not. There are simply too many combinations of screen aspect ratios, frame rates, interlaced/progressive scan, pixel aspect ratios and delivery specifications.

A tutorial wouldn't be practical, because accommodating all the different circumstances would result in a very, VERY long and very confusing document.

Just get the specs from the station that has agreed to take your work - and go from there.
