files resizing to the wrong dimension
by Duncan Ball on Apr 21, 2008 at 4:49:57 pm

Hi,

Everytime I create a new composition and drop a file (be that a movie or psd or jpg etc) into the timeline, stage, or layer panel it resizes it to the wrong dimensions of the original file.

I have to stretch it so that it becomes the right size again, and obviously this is not the way forward.

I presume it's just a setting I have wrong somewhere.

I would appreciate any help with this.

Thanks in advance.

Maybe you should have pixel aspect ratio correction on? It makes DV-like comps look normal while working on a computer.

As Steve says, check the PAR correction on the viewer. If it still looks odd, check you've got the right PAR in the footage itself.

Right-click on your footage in the Project window and check Interpret Footage > Main.

Cheers,
Ben
