QT rendering Gamma increase

Hi,
I'm sure this is quite simple to rectify, but I don't seem to be able to see the wood for the trees.
When rendering out a .MOV there always is a gamma increase. I thought it may have something to do with the colour management settings, but trying various combinations it got me nowhere.
This is not, however, limited to AE. The same happens rendering out of Vegas, but I use AE more and thought I'd post this here.
Cheers

When viewed in another application? When brought back into AE? Different applications, OSs and devices have different ways of handling gamma. Could you be more specific?

Once it's rendered out whatever I view it in shows the increase, QT player, also if I bring it into Vegas. I must say I hadn't thought to bring it back into AE to see what it was like.
Cheers
