how can I maintain consistent line thickness?
by Stephen Evans on Mar 24, 2008 at 1:16:53 am

Is there some way in AfterEffects in which I can zoom in on a vector image or animation and still maintain the same line thickness throughout? In other words, as it gets closer the image gets bigger but the line thickness doesn't.

I would have zoom in using a camera.
Make the layers you want to zoom 3D, and the vector layer non 3D layer.
The layer will stay constant and won't be affected by the camera.

That wouldn't work.

As you zoom in, your line will stay EXACTLY where it is while the rest of your comp would change size.

Stephan Evans:
How far in are you zooming?

You could do some math and decrease the thickness proportionally, (might need to manage the collapse transformations option for that layer)..
