i've got a background image and a text layer. together they look like one image. i then want the text to slowly float up and away, casting a shadow on the background image. i want the text to slightly peel away as it floats up. i can get the text to move in z space and cast a shadow i just can't get a realistic looking float. i've messed around with the text pre-sets but can't get it to look right. is there any handy hints someone could pass my way?

Look into getting 3D Warps by Zaxwerks. It ought to do the trick.
