copy motion sketch frames into WRITE-ON (position) offset?
by david lieberman (shroomly) on Mar 13, 2008 at 6:21:17 pm

hello,

Im trying to motion sketch a shape that i've got. After I try to copy the position keyframes in order to paste them in the BRUSH POSITION value of the Write-On effect.

Im basically trying to reveal the shape in that way, using writ-on. but when i paste the position frames onto the write-on brush position value, the entire sketch shifts about 15pixels to the right... I've tried every way of pasting it to fit the shape perfectly but it just wont happen...

any ideas?

thanx for the help.

Make sure size of your layer matches the size of your comp, and you shouldn't have any problems.

i've tried the ammendments, made the layer same size as comp. still no hope...the line is less offset, but still off by at least 10 pixels.

Could it have anything to do with the fact that i've got a dv pal comp with a square pixel layer? i've resized it by going to transform-fit to comp. is that wrong?

thanx for the help.

Yes. The two layers have to MATCH in horizontal resolution, vertical pixel resolution, pixel aspect ratio and scale. Match one to the other. Pick one.

And PLEASE say you're not working with PAL frame-rate footage in an NTSC frame-rate comp.
