As you can see, the glitch is on the screen for the entire clip. This is just a short part of the clip to show what is wrong. If I had the demo of this clip I could easily fix it, however I have lost it so i'm wondering if there is anyway by using After Effects that I could get rid of this glitch that's just off to the left and down from the center of screen. What? The glitch that looks like a vertical scroll bar? Getting rid of it is easy: just draw a rectangular mask around it. Now the hard part is finding something to replace it. Yes, post people have to be this specific. I would recommend you cut the hole with the rectangular mask tool, then place a copy of the footage below the layer with the hole in it. Now move this copy over until the hole is filled.
It won't exactly match, and it might look like garbage. You have other options to fill the hole, so here's one: cut out rectangular bits of the replacement footage, and sneak one in from the right to fill the right half of the hole, and one in from the left to fill the left half of the hole. This way it's twice as good, or half as bad.
I don't clone, because things look pretty shaky when I do that, and this is a long clip to do cloning with. The big boys have a lot of guys to do this by hand.
Another alternative is to make a graphic that looks like the glitch, only negative. Since it is partially transparent, you might be able to mess with opacity and transfer modes to get something that darkens the footage so you don't see the (lighter) glitch. I think that's the best bet. No holes or footage copies required.
