Using AE templates
by Jan-Arden Petersen on Mar 8, 2008 at 5:43:02 pm

We are getting ready to begin an upcoming project and are considering purchasing a few templates. The templates are listed as 640x480 NTSC and HD 1920x1080 24p. We shoot in HDV 1080i. Will the HD template be compatible, and if not, can templates be scaled to work with our project/

Thank you for your time and thoughts.

[Jan-Arden Petersen] "The templates are listed as 640x480 NTSC and HD 1920x1080 24p. We shoot in HDV 1080i. Will the HD template be compatible, and if not, can templates be scaled to work with our project/ "

The HD templates should work. Your HDV footage is 1440x1080 with a 1.33 pixel aspect ratio, but when working in AE it will be interpreted such that you can work with it in a 1920x1080 square pixel (HDTV) composition.
