Make stills look video
by Phil Beastall on Mar 6, 2008 at 5:56:09 pm

Rather than using video for the background with green screen shots, we were thinking of using stills instead. Are there any tips and tricks to make the stills look like video? I've added noise/grain so far, but was hoping there might be other techniques to make it even more convincing.

Add a little blur to give a feel of a little depth between your subject and background. Photo stills tend to be too sharp.
Match your background comp to your foreground. Meaning that if you have a wide shot for an interview, then the camera comp changes to a close up, make sure that you also "zoom" in or enlarge the background to match as this is what would happen if they were in front of a real background.
