AE 7.0 Crash
by Aaron Cadieux (Cadge31) on Feb 27, 2008 at 5:44:39 am

Every time I try to import an HDV file into AE 7.0, it crashes with the imfamous 0::42 error. How do I stop this from happening?

I already updated to 7.0.1.

How would I "trash the prefs" on a PC?

AE doesn't like HDV. Use Quicktime to convert your HDV file into something like Animation, PNG, or Photo-JPEG. Then import the converted file into AE.

In older versions of AE you would look for the Preferences file in the AE directory, then rename or delete (I'd rename) the preferences file. Not sure about CS3 or 7.
