walking baby animation query.
by lyrad boots on Feb 18, 2008 at 12:07:41 pm

Hi,

Not sure if this will end up being an expressions query but here goes.

Is there an easy way to animate say 6 frames of walking animation to loop throughout a comp.
I intend to have a baby walking through (sideways scrolling) a comp landscape.

Thanks in advance.

You're trying to make a "walk cycle".
Could you be more specific regarding the problem?

1. do you have the 6 frames, but don't know how to loop them?
To solve that, render them as a 6-frame movie, then import and interpret the footage so it loops. Look in the Help under "interpretation". If you don't want to render it now, precompose the animation, apply Time remapping, then use a loop ("cycle") expression to loop the precomp.

2. do you have the baby as a series of mage layers, one for each limb/body part, but don't know how to animate them?
Search the COW for "IK" and "ebberts". This isn't easy, but it can be done with a bit of patience.

3. if those don't solve the problem, let us know exactly what you have, and what you need to do.

Hey there
Dont know if this will help but try this :
1. make your baby animation in a new comp.
2. render it as a movie file
3. import that movie into your original comp
4. (now I'll try to make this sound legible) with the movie layer highlighted click on effects & presets -> Keying -> color keying. Then use the color dropper nad select your movie clip. Viola! you just have made your background of your movie transparent.
5.now right click on your movie in the project panel. Interpret footage -> Main... then enter a high figure on the loop box.
6 you will now see on the timeline the fle is extendable
hope that works
