AE/Auto Duck/Edit Compatibility
by Ryan Gilding on Feb 15, 2008 at 12:00:33 am

Will Automatic Duck export outside of its host box to a shared folder?

If so, will a Duck export work across platforms (going from Mac/FCP to a PC w/ After Effects; also seperately from a PC w/ Avid NewsCutter to a PC w/ After Effects)

Besides a producer having to physically get up and move to another computer, are there other inefficiencies to this workflow? (what we like is that it gives us 3 boxes in a 3-man department.)

Give me all your thoughts and suggestions, please.

I think that AE and FCP have to be on the same box. Now, once AE opens the Duck data, that project can go to a PC, since there's no more link to FCP and AE projects are cross-platform, assuming other plugs and fonts are there.

Aside from that, I'd recommend posting in the Duck COW forum or writing Wes Plate directly from the Duck website. He's a straight-up guy.
