Using After Effects CS3 on 3 macs
by Richard Squires on Jan 29, 2008 at 10:00:13 am

I have 2 desktop macs a Dual G5 and a MacPro Quad. On both of them I have installed After Effects CS3. I am a freelance designer and I use both machines separately. My license allows me to install it on both machines so long as I don't use it at the same time on the 2 machines. I am now looking to get a laptop as well and want to put it on that machine as well. Now I know this isn't really possible as I can only authorise it one 2 machines, but could I de-authorise it on one machine for say a week and authorise the laptop version for that week. Then when I've finished with the laptop de-authorise that one then re-authorise the original machine.

It's a huge fag to be honest but I can't justify as a single user buying 2 full versions of After Effects just to be able to have it on 3 machines. I would be doing similar with Photoshop. Is there another type of license Adobe does that allows me to do what I am after.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Sadly my first thought is to get a cracked version so I can do what I want to do ( of course I won't be doing this) but Adobe really should allow for this kind of setup.

regards

Richard

It's pretty easy to de-authorize and re-autorize the software as you go. No need to de-install or re-install, just a quick transfer of license.

So if it's really a matter of once a week is should be a painless process.
