Final Cut into Adobe Premiere
by Ross Gerbasi (RossGerbasi) on Jan 24, 2008 at 3:34:53 pm

Ok! So i know this isn't a final cut OR a premiere forum, but I think this is still a good place to bring this up.

If for whatever reason your super psyched about premiere CS3 and you wanna move your edit from FC, you could be thinking.. this blows.... Maybe you wanna try to give it to someone thats on a PC (I haven't tested that yet.. but seems like it should work fine) Or maybe you just wanted tighter integration, which ofcourse an all adobe lineup will give ya.

Anyways here is a simple workaround. Go grab the Final Cut to After Effects script from here

http://www.popcornisland.com/downloads

Save your Final Cut file as XML, and import it into AE.

Then from AE export as a Premiere Project.... and thats it. YAY!

Sadly the export from AE to Premiere doesn't seem to support any keyframes... boooo! but if you just wanna get your basic edit moved over... this should be cool

As far as moving back, from premiere to final cut, well I think that is just a endless world of sadness... sorry :)

hope this helps.
