Hey, I'm on the look out for some plugins. Particularly some 3d stroke and particle emitters. I'm really hating not having these.
All of Trapcodes plugins just seem amazing. I'm just wandering if there are any other options out there that might be a bit cheaper or a better deal for what you get.
I know a measly $100 is nothing for such a cool plugin, but I'm basically broke; so I'm kinda scrounging.
I did a search on this topic but couldn't really find what I was looking for. If you know of a thread, please don't be afraid to link me to it.

I'm pretty much in the same boat. And generally buy one plugin a year with money Christmas money I have. About five years ago I got a copy of Particle Illusion SE off the front cover of a magazine, Digit. This year I finally bought PI3 and wow!, so much better and easier to use.
I've also picked up other packages from magazines and it's certainly a way to get started. You have to be careful though, sometimes companies offer evaulation versions for download and they do mean evaluation, not non-commercial. I saw a post here a few years ago when Trapcode stomped on a guy
for extended use of an evaluation version of their plugin.
