Importing .mov footage into AE Only seeing BLACK
by Deanna Benson on Jan 3, 2008 at 10:16:28 pm

Hello,

I hope someone can help me out with this..I've got some HD footage in a quicktime movie format, but when I import the image is black. I've been able to open it in FCP for testing purposes. But I'm unable to use that workstation, so I'll have to find a solution with the AE app. Has anyone run across this scenario before? I did a search, but didn't find anyone not being able to see any image at all. I'd appreciate any help you could offer..

Thanks in advance,
Dee

What codec specifically?

Are you on a Mac or PC? Are you able to play it in Quicktime at all on that workstation? (Outside of AE?) Most likely you are missing a codec. Try downloading a codec pack such as the 'Cole2K Media Codec Pack.' Hope this helps. -Grant
