Marquee Tool ???
by Magicaldog on Jan 3, 2008 at 9:06:01 am

Hi

Is it possible to apply an effect to a specified area in AE?

Like using the marquee tool in Photoshop?

Thanks!

Some effects actually have a checkbox to limit their effect to a mask area. But most of them don't.

The workaround is to duplicate the layer, mask the area you want to apply the effect on (on the top layer) and go ahead.

You could also use an adjustment layer and apply a mask to the adjustmentlayer.
