steps for publishing video to site

Hello to all the pros out there!
i'm new here and also to vfx.. let's get to the point..
I need a clarification on publishing my work..
I've finished my work on AE and I want to publish it as a flash for the web. Should I "add to render queue", render it as a different file and compress it using compression tools or export it as an .flv file?

There is more than one way to do this, and I'm sure others will sound off, but this is, in my opinion, the right way to do it:
- Render out from AE uncompressed or with lossless compression.
- Bring that uncompressed (or lossless) video into an advanced compression program like Sorenson Squeeze or Flix Pro. You can also use AE of FLash to compress the video, but it will not look NEARLY as good.
From here there are 2 was to go:
A. Output as an FLV, import the FLV into FLash and create an SWF player to load and play the video...
B. Output as an SWF, and use Squeeze's or FLix Pro's SWF player templates.
- From there, embed the swf file in the web page using a web design program like Dreamweaver.

what about out AE (uncompressed) and then go through Flash 8 video encoder (FLV). would i get better results than just going Flash (FLV) out directly from AE?

It's the exact same encoder that flash uses. The main difference is that you can batch process your footage (Convert many at once).
Understand that flash and flash encoder do not use multi-pass compression - a process which analyzes and then compresses the video. Instead it simply compresses as it goes - which means it cannot produce video nearly as well compressed as an advanced compression program.
