text animation render

I am using the typewriter preset in AE 6.5 and when i render out to a movie the text animation causes my background to turn this hidious turquise blue color. any suggestions on what my problem is?

Is the text the only thing your comp? Is your background supposed to be transparent or a solid color or...?
