Hey. Me and some friends at school are planning to do a spoof to the famous iPod commercials, where you see some people dance in silhouette, with a funky BG and a white iPod and earplugs attached.
I know they shot it on a green-/bluescreen, and keyed it out, then fill them black. The issue im thinking about is the iPod.. How did they make it white, when the person is black? Did they rotoscope it, or is it some kind of trick that im not familiar with?
If ur not sure how this was accomplished, I will be as mutch gratefull for an alternate solution.
Hope I gave enough information. Please help! We're gonna shoot it at Tuesday 22. November, that is, if I get some answers:)

I'm not sure exactly how apple did their ads, but a quick a dirty way would be to make sure you've got a crack-ton of light on that greenscreen, and pull your actor far enough away from it so that none of the spill is hitting them. That way, they'll be black against the greenscreen.
If they're wearing an ipod, the you may be able to mess with the levels of the layer that your actor is on, adding some contrast to the elements that you want to pop out, after keying out the background.
It's quick and dirty, and it will still require some experimentation to get the right look, but it can work.
