Tracking capabilities in AE???
by Scotty on Nov 13, 2007 at 6:12:07 am

Hi

Does AE 8 have a good tracking "tool" that allows GREAT stabalization? I need to put video in a TV set that is not stable and moving a little bit from left to right. I had some problems a few years ago w/ AE 6 so I'm wondering if this is now possible? I recently purchased the new AE so I haven't really fiddled w it...

I really appreciate the help! Thanks a bunch!

Scotty

it sounds like the tracking tools in AE would be more than capable of doing this ... so long as the TV has some clear tracking points (like maybe the corners where the tv glass meets the edge?)

... keep in mind though, to get a good track you need to spend a bit of time getting it right .. spend a bit more time fixing any little imperfections, and some more time making a convincing composite ... there is never (or very rarely) a one-click solution ...

AE8 is better at putting things into TVs (as long as they are rectangular. If not, you can always try Mocha.
