graph editor confusion

I'm not a newbie with compositing programs. I've used Combustion since before it was Combustion as well as Digital Fusion. I have been using AE for the last year. I am somewhat embarrassed to say that the AE graph editor confuses me. I am not at one with the whole cause and effect of it.
Does anyone know of any video tutorials on the subject? Something about the explanation in the AE manual that just doesn't click with me.
