tracking something you can't see
by Chris180kc on Oct 16, 2007 at 1:01:06 am

I am following Andrew Kramer's Demon Face tutorial, and I know how to do it because I done it before. I am doing it a second time and have one question. How do you track something you can't see. For example, In the shot I have my friend looking down at the ground looking up into the camera, but her hair is covering one side of her face. I tried to track the eye I could see and another point in the shot, but was having trouble when it came to the distortion on the face. Is their some way I can still track the footage and do the distortion to get the look I'm looking for? I'd really appreciate so tips or something.

If you hold down Alt (Option)you can reposition the track point but keep the same Attach Point, that should do what you want, methinks. Here's a tut from Adobe:

You could reset it when the hair gets out of the way.
