After effects->flash->powerpoint

I'm developing a movie in AE that I need to have play inside powerpoint, and the only reliable way I've found to embed it in Powerpoint is as a Flash movie (the various other media players don't seem to be supported on the machines it needs to run on)
However when I take this approach, the animation looks dithered and fuzzy in Powerpoint, even when playing at its original size. Is there any way to retain the original quality of the AE movie?

I've not heard of issues with MPEG-1, MPEG-2 or WMVs in Powerpoint. I would stick to those. What platform are you on. Please provide more details of your issues.
And use the Add Media Object command rather than the Add Video command. A Media Object provides video playback buttons which are useful if you want to stop, pause etc during playback.
