Keylight on mulitple layers
by Henry199 on Aug 28, 2007 at 3:21:58 am

Hello,

I have a comp with 134 layers of Full HD footage.

Each layer is an interview done a green screen.

I can key each one out easily enough using 'KeyLight', but it's going to take awhile.

I've tried keying the first layer, then simply copying the effect to the remaining layers - but there are a few glitches. (Half the screen disappears etc..).

I've also tried precomping them, and applying one 'keylight' to all 134 layers, it does remove each green screen, but it just turns it white, instead of making it a transparent layer.

Is there any other way of adding keylight to 134 layers, then tweaking the ones that are out?

Cheers,
Henry

Instead of copying and pasting, save your settings as a custom effect.

Keep in mind that there is NO set formula for pulling a good chroma key using Keylight if the footage was shot under differing conditions.

You might get lucky if the lighting and setup for all 134 shots was the same. But if the footage was shot at different times using different setups and different cameras, you're going to be busy.
