Can anyone help me create the effect at 2:48 behind jack black and kyle? The purple background... It seems so easy but it isn't! I can't make it look like it's moving...

dude! i knew instantly what you meant when you wrote "the effect at 2:48 behind jack black and kyle" and since i'm the greatest D fan there is, i'm sure to post you en exact recipe soon, but this should be relatively simple to do. try experimenting a bit with Fractal Noice + CC Radial Fast Blur, and in the meanwhile i'd like to point you to my two tutorials:

Hello Maltaannonn,
I too would have liked to check out the tutorials but your page is down, actually your site is down and has been down every time I go and visit it :( I just hope your aware of this and can sort it out soon since I enjoyed your tutorials very much!!.

i know that the site was down, and it was down only two times, but each time it was for a week or so. i guess that all the traffic was just a bit to much for my server to handle.
but i'm sure that while writing this post it is working.
MakuOnline: hang on. i just have to finish up some work and i'll get right to it. ;)

Looks to me like it has a good dose of Shine with a large Shimmer setting. Take a look at the Shimmer example on this page: http://trapcode.com/products_shine.html

ok. as promised.
you'll need two comps: Final, and PreComp
and the following effects:
Fractal Noise
Offset
Polar Coordinates
Radial Blur
Glow
Optic Compensation
Colorama
CC Radial Fast Blur
follow this steps:
Create a new comp "PreComp" (Ratio 1:1, so it may be 640x640 for example)
Add a new solid (comp size)
Apply Fractal Noise. You need to set the type that has many highlights, like Max. You may play with contrast/brightnes/size later. Set the evolution to this expression: time * 50
Add offet. Set the "Shitf Center To" to this expression: [thisComp.width/2, time * 700]
Apply Polar Coordinates and set the type to "Rect to Polar" and the Interpolation to 100%
Apply Radial Blur and set the Type to Spin
Apply Glow
Apply Optics Compensation, set Field Of View to about 130 and check the Reverse Lens Distortion checkbox
Apply CC Radial Fast Blur, set the amount to about 60, and Zoom to Brightest or Standard
Apply Colorama and change the output color wheel to match the colors in the Tribute Videoclip or whatever else suits you
Create a new comp "Final" by dragging comp "PreComp" to "Make new comp button"
In "Final" comp apply CC Force Motion Blur and change Motion Blur Sample to 3 to speed rendering up a bit.
There you go. You will probably need to adjust the brightnes and contrast of the fractal noice in the "PreComp", and maybe Optics Compensatin to get it just right, but its close enough to play with. You may also try to apply some turbulence, or simply add another glow, or whatever.
