HDV Audio sync issues
by bdstric on Aug 10, 2007 at 11:15:38 pm

I am using Premiere 2.0 to capture HDV footage. Premiere captures it perfectly, creating MPEGs (Sony 60i). I then create a new project in After Effects 7.0 and import the premiere project. When I lay the MPEGs captured by Premiere into the timeline, the audio is out of sync. Has anyone else encountered this problem and/or have a good solution? Thanks for the help ahead of time.

Have you tried to import the AE comp into premiere pro via dynamic link and render it out from there!? I guess that HDV uses 48kHz audio? Personally I've never sucsesfully used other audio in AE than 44kHz 16bit stereo. Even if it seems fine in the timeline the audio gets some wiered click/peek every 5 second or so when rendered.

I don't have the production suite, so dynamic link is not an option for me. I am importing the project file into AE. Not quite the same, but the best I've got at this point.
