Illustrator CS3 > AE7 - no layers?

when I try to bring a layered AI CS3 file into AE7 as a comp, I just get 1 layer (essentially flattened)

works just fine bringing an AI CS2 layered file in....

anybody?

Proably because AE 7 doesn't know there's an AI CS3 at all? :)
Did you enable the PDF option for AI files in the Save dialog?
