In the left-hand column, you'll find a "search posts" button. Click on it. Ignore the basic search at the top, and go directly to the advanced search. Search the After Effects forum, using pleasantville as the search term. Search back a couple of years. You will be rewarded by finding many threads on this topic. They'll very likely cover a different ways to accomplish the effect, one of which is best for your situation; in AE, there is ususally more than one way to skin a cat. Happy searching!
