AE 7 Pro installation problem.
by scotia2k7 on Mar 10, 2007 at 9:10:34 pm

Hello! - I found this forum after purchasing After Effects 7 Pro - I read through the common FAQ's, and a few posts/threads but since Im only *just* starting out with it, I wondered if I could ask directly for some help.

Ive popped the disc in, and get the first splash - I click "install" - I get the choose language, then a quick flash of the "preparing to install" - then I wait, and wait, and wait...lol - If I ctrl, alt, del it tells me AEPro is running, but its not doing anything. I have a few suspicions, but to be honest - I was just so excited to buy it!

Does the installer run system req's checks? - could it be that mine just isnt up to running AE?

Im running DELL INSPIRON 9300 laptop - Intel Pentium 4 @ 2.13GHz - Centrino,
2GB RAM with 14GB hd space left? *eek?* Nvidia GeForce Go 6800 with 256Mb

I currently have PhotoShop CS2, Studio8, Bryce 5 & Poser 6 installed - I wondered if apart from the fact my graphics card must be now out of date, there was a conflict in Render engines? Id really appreciate any help at all, Ive bought this, and am desperate to learn it!

Thanks in advance,
Scotia ;)

There probably is not much use installing it. You won't be able to do anything once you get it installed. You will need to make some room or get a new drive.

Hi there - thanks for the advice, I'll follow it! - Any particular type of drive? (apart from a large one)- and can it be an external drive (since I have 40BG of stuff to shift otherwise?) - Do the other elements of my system seem ok? and finally, although I appreciate the advice, it kinda didnt explain *why* Im having the installation issues?

Thanks in advance,
Scotia
