Rendering Issues

I rendered a rather large file (960mb) and for some reason it is not showing up when I play it back in Quicktime. It is a 7000x7000px composition with two black and white layers crossing one another over and over again, but not particularly fast. Upon playback it appeared as both layers just sat motionless. All the layers are visible that I want visible, work area is where it should be...any ideas? I've never dealt with this before but I'm guessing it maybe has to do with the large composition size? Thanks for any help.

I don't know why it wouldn't play, but you're right: 7000x7000 is pretty stinkin' big! If I were in search of an answer, that's where I'd start.
Have you tried importing the file into AE and doing a RAM preview at something like 1/8 resolution and 12.5% screen size? You know, just so you can see if the thing is playing at all....

that's 140 MB per frame. Out of curiosity I made a jpg that size with a gradient and noise applied. It was 11.7MB. That means that a medium compressed motion jpeg qt at 30 fps would be between 351MB/sec and 4200 MB/sec. You're going to need a monster array to play back a file that big even with some major compression and a very powerful processor.
