The wireframe/final comp was created with a 3D app such as 3DSMax or Maya or Lightwave, etc.

the wireframe definetly 3d, but if you didn't have 3d software you could use trapcode 3d stroke, but that would be a whole lot of instances and a rather huge pain.

that game is counterstrike on the picture. i think there are commands to make wireframe mode in the game if i remember correctly. So i would asssume he just recorded the same shot in regular mode and wireframe mode then just switched between them.

As stated, With most CS movies the entire game is recorded in the form of a Demo. Basically the game can be played back and render as if it were happening live.

What they do is select that certain player and record that player and that certain Degree X and Degree Y which you can program into the CS console. Then record, then record the same thing while Having CS just render the Wireframe. 50x times better/quicker then a 3d Program also it's easiest.

CS, Quake, Battlefield are some of the games that can do this. Most games that are in Professional Gaming league have that ability. Except Halo 2. This feature is nice because you can program these demo's to render the game at high resolution's and Frame rates. It won't be real time but it can render the game to a Video file or a series of TGA/PNG frames.

Most Quake videos that are around the net are recorded at 1600x1200+ and 300fps.
