This was easy in After Effects 6.5 but I don't seem to be able to paste the paths from illustrator into the position keyframes in 7.0. Is this a common problem or am I just missing something?

This has happened to me quite frequently. You aren't alone in the problem. AE is very specific about what you must have in the clipboard, and what you must have selected in the timeline. Make sure you have AICB (or something to that effect) checked on the Illustrator Preferences, under the clipboard category. Other than that, it's all about trial and error because in 6.5 it was too simple.

Thanks Aharon. The restart did the trick. I had been resorting to pasting the paths in 6.5 when needed and then opening the project in 7.0. I had in fact seen the paths tutorial and make a point of checking out all your tutorials. They're great.
And Lazlo, it was reassuring to know I wasn't the only one who had this issue.
Nate and taxi. Fridays are tough. I hope next week is better.
