OpenGL error
by ThomasG on Dec 7, 2006 at 3:18:18 am

I have been using AE for several years now but have never recieved this error before. I recently installed AE on my new laptop and quickly realized that whenever the screen refreshed it produces this error:

After Effects error: OpenGL: Problem creating the texture object.

(5044 :: 0)

It has sofar not stopped me from doing my work, and still draws the screen fine (i also dont get this message when rendering). But it is really starting to slow me down and get on my nerves. Is there perhaps a setting or openGL setting that i should change.

My processor is fast but my graphics card is not very good, but other opengl programs work fine, slower, but fine.

Any help or advice would be appreciated, thanks!

Not sure, but usually notebooks have shared memory aand you should be able to allocate more of your RAM to the graphics. This should solve your problem, as the error only means that the video buffer is too small to cram in the entire image (for HD stuff, the default on most notebooks 64 MB is barely sufficient for a single layer).
