Photoshop masks converted for After Effects

Hey Guys,
I'm sure this is possible but cant seem to find this on any tutorials or forums and my photoshop skills aren't the best working with AE so hopefully you can help. I have an image in photoshop of a person against a background. I then seperate the person by lassoing around the person and copying it to another layer. Then save the psd image with the two layers...background and now foreground. IF I import this into AE, i then want to apply the stroke effect to the person layer (to create an outline) but dont want to have to use AE's mask took to create a new mask that the stroke effect requires. To save time, is there a way that when i import the file, AE automatically recognizes the alpha channel around the foreground layer and the stroke effect can use that as the mask? I think it can be done with illustrator but nt sure with Photoshop. Hope that makes sense, thanks for your patience.
