If your footage is assembled from different cuts, the pulldown is different for each cut. You need to ask the editor to give you each cut separately, so you can then find the pulldown phase and remove pulldown separately for each clip. Or you might have to cut and re-import it yourself.
Alternately, your footage might have been shot 24p advanced, and you'll need to pick a phase for "remove advanced pulldown".
Or your film was shot at 30 fps, with no pulldown. Maybe.

Thanks for the list .. not only will it save posts being refered to twice it can act as a sourse of inspiration. Just seeing the the things that AE is capable of before i even knew i had questions to ask is great !

Here's one for you. I have a clip. ONE CUT. Single shot. But no matter WHAT phase I choose in pulldown there is always a frame that looks wrong, I can fix one frame and then another good frame has problems. This is the oddest thing and whoever can solve this is deserving of title of AE GURU.

Trying to import files from Adobe Illustrator, but the vector is not being preserved when it's brought into After Effects. Is this because we're still using 6.5 or is it another issue?

For some time now I have been checking the Cow Forums (AE & Premiere Pro) and have found some great information which has been invaluable. But, some reason I have a problem trying to view the 'video tutorials'. I can't seem to bring them up. And, I have the latest I-Tunes.
Also, I would like to copy the 'tutorials' on AE & PPRO to a CD-R, so I can review them on my editing system (which is not connected to the net.) I know this is probably downloading Basic 101 ...but, what must I do? I have no problems downloading tutorials from Digital Juice, so I'm obviously doing something wrong here.

I need to create a set of bubbles that move around the outside of an object. The producer shouldn't animate, I want to control the path of the bubbles. Any ideas??

I retouched a about 50 frames, frame by frame. Now I need to use the correction on the same movie, but it hase different in and out points.
Is it possible to copie the stamp paint effect to another layer, then move its effect range by a couple of seconds?
