Is the sound MP3? If so, you should use Quicktime player or the equivalent to convert the files to AIFF or WAV before importing them back into AE.

If not, could you please tell us about the format of the files that have audio, as well as your system specs?

I've tried converting the files to WAFF and importing them back into AE. I've put them on seperate layers oevr the relevant pieces but i'm still getting the same sound problems. The wierd thing is that just once the whole thing worked?? The original files are windows media player.

Do you get the sound problems when you try to render the audio alone? Or when you render the video alone? Can you render the video to Quicktime Animation codec and re-import?

Or use something else to convert the files to another format such as Quicktime Animation or Photo-JPEG?

I still get the sound error when i try to export the audio alone but not when i just export the video. I've now imported the original files and exported and that works fine. It's when i import this into AE and add it as a layer to the video (a seperate layer). That the problem occurs? It doesn't seem to have any consistancy? I'm currently trying to export the video as an animated quicktime compression and will try and combine it with the original file which exported ok. It's all driving me insane.
