does anyone have an expression for the flickering opacity of an old 8mm film. I want my movie to feel old and i think it will help.

You might get some tips in Aharon's "old TV screen" tutorial. If I recall he does an expression to mimic the tv scan retrace flicker...perhaps it could be modified to get the effect you're looking for...

I use the wiggler for this one. I put a black solid layer on the top of all layers, then add two opacity keyframes, one at the beginning, one at the end...both are set to around 30% opacity. I then apply the wiggler. I usually set the amount to around 20 and the frequency to 24. You can also play around with transfer modes, such as multiply. I find also repeating the above but with a slight blur can help acheive the look.

Regards

Mark
