Page Peel in AE 6.5
by TCElos on Jul 24, 2006 at 1:10:30 pm

Looking for something to show me some page peel techniques in AE. But, also wanted to make it look more lrealistic and have the page flip to the back giving a booklet look or catalog feel. I see that Andrew Kramer has the CC Page Peel plugin in his tutorial, but I am not using the latest and great AE (will be upgrading soon). So, I have to do this in AE 6.5.

Thanks!

CC Page Turn came with the software in my copy of AE 6.5... but I have AE 6.5 Pro, and it might not be in AE 6.5 standard. It's a VERY flexible effect, and I'm having a tough time thinking of any kind of page turn it can't simulate.

Well, if you don't have it, you don't have it. Your only hope might be to use Mesh Warp. Good luck; I wouldn't want to do it.

The CC Plugins are a seperate installation off the AE CD, under "Cycore", or maybe you have the Educational version (that is CC-less).

Here's a more complicated, but more elegant Page Turning Comp at NY Visual:

The good news is the upgrade from Educational is the same upgrade amount as if you'd have had the Regular (Commercial) version to start with, $200.

Yep, I went from Educational Standard AE 5.5 to (Commercial) Pro 6.5 for the same $200 as if you'd upgraded AE Standard or Pro 6.0 to 6.5.

6.5 Pro (EDU) to 7.0 Pro (Com.) Upgrade for $200?
by TCElos on Jul 25, 2006 at 1:08:02 pm

One thing I noticed. You said you went from 5.5 (EDU) to 6.5 (COMM). Do you think it will be the same to go 6.5 Educational to 7.0 Commercial? And did you order it from Adobe or will the normal $200 upgrade from a local Apple store be enough to do the upgrade?

In all, I would like to go to AE 7.0 pro commercial from the EDU. Still possible? Is adobe letting ex-students do that?

It was 5.5 Standard(Edu) to 6.5 Pro (Commercial) a year ago, Adobe wants to convert students to regular customers, I thought it was a great deal seeing as the Edu version is half Price (and Standard half the Pro price) so basically you get to upgrade to a package 4 times the value for $200(I haven't checked prices lately, this is off the top of my head).

I'm assuming the upgrade prices are online, just hit the buy button at Adobe AE, they were a year ago.

I ordered it from Adobe and it was fast delivery, 3 to 5 days I think.

You do need to have the serial numbers for your Ed version, that was either at ordering or Installation (yeah, I think at Installation).

Cool! You are making me very excited and eager to go order my new copy! And I do have the serial for the educational version. This is cool to be in the latest and greatest AE 7.0 pro. I might go get my copy this weekend or maybe purchase online.

Thanks my friend!
