Animated Score Board
by random24 on May 31, 2006 at 4:17:22 am

I'm trying to have a score board in the background of a scene that looks like the old ones found in stadiums. Like made up of individual light bulbs that does a little budweiser animation or something. like a jumbo tron thingy. Does anyone have a reference for something like this or a good way to do it?

Cheers!

CC Ball Action is your friend. Just create your animation, Make it blocky using the Mosaic effect (so each block coincides with a sphere) and use it as an input on said effect.

As luck would have it i was making one today aswell.. hows that for coincidence..

i used the half tone effect from petes plugins to create the on off states for the score board lightbulbs and the track mattes and masks to animate logos and text.
I will certainly have a look at what myleniem suggest tho as my appraoch is fine for simple wipes and the like but would get tricky for more complicated animations...
