I was pretty frustrated last night when I had just finished a project that had to be out by today, and I went to add it to my render queue and got this error. So, ofcourse the first thing I do is a search on the cow. Only one person seemed to have posted this error, and with no replies. I tried everything to fix it: trashing prefs, repairing AE, uninstalling-reinstalling AE, opening on other computers.
The thing that finally worked was DELETING EVERYTHING IN MY RENDER QUEUE. Thanks to a coworker's idea. I hope this helps someone down the line, before they rebuild their project from scratch.
