need simple script
by Matt Stalker on Nov 13, 2005 at 1:20:06 am

Hi,

I would love to sequence a group of layers, but control it with an expressions slider. The "sequence layers" keyframe assistant does what I need, but it's a real trial and error every as the client tries to get the timing "to taste". I basically try a number, then reset, try a different number, etc. If I could just get it to a slider...

Any suggestions would be appreciated...My feeble expression writing skills are getting me nowhere.

Thanks,

Matt

You can't control this type of stuff with expressions (well, you could fake it with time remapping, but it's nowhere near "simple") as in and out points are read-only attributes. A script could do it, but it wouldn't be any different from the keyframe assistant. So there you go. In this case it's better to stay calm and maybe convince your client to work less experimental and settle for a timing.
