Black to White gradient fade in & out
by JoeyTheDog on Sep 7, 2005 at 6:50:10 am

So you have a black to white gradient with all the subtle grey tones in between. You do a 4 second fade up and then a 4 second fade down. This looks resonable on the computer but when you take it Mpeg2 to dvd for the tv you have all this vibrating banding during the fades. Is there a way around this.

I actually have a Trapcode stoke and shine animated background with all of these undulating greytones and on the television it is constant vibrating banding. Is it the Mpeg2 compression? DVD?

Thanks
Dogman

Probably a bit of both. Add a 'noise' effect to your grad and set it to about 3 or 4. It'll be a touch grainy bit will smooth out the banding a lot.
